Ron Pierce, known for his collaborative, inclusive
work style, has led design teams in both corporate
and consultant worlds for over 25 years. With
his depth of knowledge in design strategy, planning
and management and first-hand experience in developing
new products and brands. Ron continues to provide
clients with practical business solutions built
on a foundation of innovative forward thinking.
Ron has driven design advancements in a broad
spectrum of product and service industries, achieving
special expertise in emerging and convergent
technologies, medical products and retailing.
As lead brand consultant for Federal Express,
he was instrumental in developing their domestic
corporate identity and expanding its application
into the European and Asian markets. For Baxter
Healthcare and Bayer Corporation, Ron’s
creative team melded multiple corporate acquisitions
into one coherent brand identity to enhance shareholder
value in the financial community and reinforced
their competitive presence in the medical marketplace.
The design research and product planning he
executed for Pacific Rim clients such as Hitachi
and Pioneer contributed to their successful expansion
into US and European markets. For national retailer,
JCPenney, Ron was responsible for the design
and development of over 30 hard and soft good
product categories, directing the process from
planning, through offshore manufacture to in-store
point of purchase.
Blending his client’s business objectives
with his creative acumen, Ron helped pioneer
the integration of qualitative and quantitative
research techniques with traditional product
design/development methodologies to generate
breakthrough innovation. As principal of two
highly successful industrial design consultant
firms prior to joining ACCESS International,
Ron was immersed in all management activities
from finance and operations, to business strategy
and client program development. Through Ron’s
visionary leadership, both firms achieved international
acclaim through numerous design awards.
Ron is an instructor at the internationally
respected Art Center College of Design and is
a frequent guest lecturer at universities and
business conferences. Ron is a graduate of Kent
State University with degrees in Industrial Design
and Graphic Design. He lives in Los Angeles with
his wife.
